Over the Top Christmas Breakfast Ideas

Christmas is a time for sharing, love, and gift giving, and Christmas morning can be just as sweet.

Everyone knows that when it comes to Christmas, the morning is spent ripping open presents and enjoying family. The rest of the day is spent getting excited for that delicious Christmas dinner that is almost like a second Thanksgiving. But what about Christmas breakfast? If you ask me, it is greatly over looked. This could really be a great opportunity to enjoy the morning together after presents, while digging into an over the top delightful meal in your pajamas!

Yogurt and Oatmeal Pancakes with Blackberry Crush





To Make 8 Servings You Will Need:

4 cups of blackberries

1/3 cup of sugar

1/3 teaspoon of baking soda

2 cups of half and half

2 cups of plain yogurt

4 eggs

8 tablespoons of butter

2 cups of flour

½ teaspoon of salt

1 ¼ cups of oats

½ cup of maple syrup

Mix all of the ingredients except for the butter, blackberries, and maple syrup in a mixing bowl. Mix on high until there are no lumps. Add butter to the pan, and cook the pancakes as desired. Next, crush the blueberries with a fork, and pour some over top of the pancakes along with maple syrup. Now enjoy those over the top yogurt and oatmeal pancakes!

Pumpkin and Gingerbread Waffles






To Make 12 Servings You Will Need:

4 tablespoons of ginger

½ teaspoon of ground cloves

4 cups of flour

8 eggs

1 cup of half and half

1 cup of milk

4 tablespoons of brown sugar

2 teaspoons of baking soda

2 teaspoon of baking powder

6 tablespoons of molasses

1 cup of pumpkin puree

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

½ teaspoon of salt

1 cup of sour cream

12 tablespoons of melted butter

Preheat your waffle iron and spread the butter all over the grates with a basting brush. Place all of the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Then, cook your waffles and top them with maple syrup and drizzle with caramel if desired.

Cream Cheese and Strawberry French toast

To Make 6 Servings You Will Need:

6 slices of bread

Spreadable cream cheese

½ cup of sugar

5 eggs

½ cup of crushed strawberries

½ cup of sliced strawberries

½ cup of maple syrup

1 cup of milk

1 tablespoon of butter

Combine the milk, eggs, sugar, and crushed strawberries in a bowl and stir together well. Place butter in a pan on medium heat, then take each piece of bread and soak in the mixture one by one. Immediately place the bread in the frying pan and cook until golden brown on both sides. Next, spread the cream cheese on top of the bread and top with the sliced strawberries and maple syrup. Enjoy your Christmas morning with this delicious breakfast treat!
